Although it may not seem like it with all the snow we’ve been having recently, we’re coming to the end of February and therefore winter too. Many people will be beginning to start their gardening for spring and summer and it’s got us thinking about gardening tips. A beautiful garden adds value to a home, and so we’ve decided to share our top gardening tips with you below; they’re all really simple too.
Know About Location
Location of your plants is really important. Some plants love the shade, some love the sun and some are partial to a little bit of both to keep them alive. When buying new plants for your garden, research what their location needs are. If you don’t get a lot of shade in your garden, don’t buy plants that need it! If the shade/sun tends to move around your garden, think about having your plants on a trolley so that you can move them around.
Give Plants a Drink
You need water to live and so do your plants. Remember to water them regularly, especially when they’re young to help them grow and live. Water them from the root and avoid getting the leaves wet as this can make them rot and die quicker. Don’t drown them either; give them a little drink daily rather than soaking them every few days.
Trim, Trim, Trim
If you want to keep your hair healthy, you’ll regularly get it trimmed; it’s the same for plants! Trim away dead buds or unnecessary leaves; this will improve the air circulation. In addition to this, if you trim the leaves, there will be less in the way to get wet; therefore you’ll prevent them from rotting as mentioned earlier.
Go Artificial
We don’t know about you, but we love opting for a low maintenance option for anything in life, including our gardens. If you don’t have the time to spend on gardening, or you don’t like gardening, the final of our gardening tips is for you: go artificial! Get artificial grass installed in your garden and opt for some artificial plants to go with it.
